พ.ศ. 2475 – สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ ประสูติวันที่ 12 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2475
พระนาม “สิริกิติ์” แปลได้ถึงความเป็นสิริมงคลแห่งราชสกุลกิติยากร
ตั้งแต่แรกกำเนิดก็เป็นดั่งของขวัญที่งดงามต่อบ้านเมือง
วัยเยาว์ของพระองค์ไม่ใช่ชีวิตสุขสบายใต้ชายคาวัง
แต่เป็นวัยเด็กที่ต้องย้ายที่อยู่ท่ามกลางความเปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครองของบ้านเมือง
ช่วงสงครามโลก พระองค์ทรงเติบโตท่ามกลางเสียงไซเรนเตือนภัยทางอากาศ

พ.ศ. 2493–2502 (18 – 27 พรรษา) : จาก “เจ้าสาวของพระเจ้าแผ่นดิน” สู่ “ที่พึ่งของแผ่นดิน”

พ.ศ. 2493 – วันที่ 28 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2493 พระราชพิธีราชาภิเษกสมรส
และต่อมาในเดือนพฤษภาคมปีเดียวกัน คือพระราชพิธีบรมราชาภิเษกของในหลวงรัชกาลที่ 9

นั่นคือจุดเริ่มต้นของ “คู่พระบารมี” อย่างแท้จริง
ตั้งแต่วินาทีนั้น สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์
ทรงไม่ได้เป็นแค่ “พระราชินีผู้ทรงงดงาม”
แต่ทรงเป็น “กำลังใจของพระเจ้าอยู่หัว”

พ.ศ. 2494–2500 – พระราชโอรสและพระราชธิดาทรงพระราชสมภพ

เราจึงไม่ได้รู้สึกว่าพระองค์เป็น “ราชวงศ์ที่ไกล”

พ.ศ. 2499 – จุดหักเหทางประวัติศาสตร์
เมื่อในหลวงรัชกาลที่ 9 ทรงผนวช
สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ทรงปฏิบัติหน้าที่ “ผู้สำเร็จราชการแทนพระองค์”
นี่ไม่ใช่เพียงตำแหน่งทางกฎหมาย
แต่มันคือความไว้วางพระราชหฤทัยในระดับสูงสุด

การเสด็จฯ เยือนต่างประเทศไม่ใช่แค่เรื่องการทูต
แต่คือ “การเรียนรู้”

พระองค์ทอดพระเนตรรูปแบบการพัฒนาประเทศต่าง ๆ
แล้วกลับมาถามตัวเองว่า
“เราจะยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตคนไทยได้อย่างไร
โดยไม่ทำลายวัฒนธรรมของเราเอง?”

พ.ศ. 2511–2518 – จุดเปลี่ยนใหญ่ของประเทศ
พระองค์เสด็จฯ ลงพื้นที่ทั่วทุกภูมิภาค
ทั้งภูเขา ป่าลึก ชายแดน หมู่บ้านห่างไกล
พระองค์เห็นปัญหาของความยากจนด้วยพระเนตร
ไม่ได้ฟังจากรายงาน

และทรงตัดสินใจไม่ยอมปล่อยให้ “คนจนต้องจนต่อไป เพราะเกิดมาจน”
จึงเกิดแนวคิดที่ยิ่งใหญ่มากในเวลานั้น
คือ “สอนให้มีอาชีพ สร้างรายได้ด้วยศักดิ์ศรีของตัวเอง”

เพื่อเปลี่ยน “ฝีมือของแม่บ้านในชนบท”

นี่คือรากฐานของโครงการศิลปาชีพ

พ.ศ. 2519–2554 (44 – 79 พรรษา) : ศิลปาชีพ ความช่วยเหลือมนุษยชาติ สิ่งแวดล้อม และศิลปวัฒนธรรม

พ.ศ. 2519 – มูลนิธิส่งเสริมศิลปาชีพ กำเนิดขึ้นอย่างเป็นทางการ
นี่ไม่ใช่แค่โครงการฝึกอาชีพ
แต่คือสะพานเชื่อมคนชายขอบ เข้าสู่ศักดิ์ศรี
เพราะในสายพระเนตรของพระองค์
“คนไทยทุกคนควรมีโอกาสลุกขึ้นยืนด้วยกำลังของตนเอง”
ไม่ใช่รอความสงสาร แต่ได้รับโอกาส

ยุคเดียวกัน – เกิดวิกฤตผู้อพยพจากสงครามบริเวณชายแดนตะวันออก

สวนสาธารณะและสวนพฤกษศาสตร์เพื่อการเรียนรู้ธรรมชาติ

การเฉลิมพระเกียรติในฐานะ “แม่ผู้ปกป้องผืนป่าและทรัพยากรของชาติ”
คือหลักฐานชัดเจนว่า พระองค์ไม่ได้ทรงดูแลแค่ “คน”
แต่ทรงดูแล “ระบบนิเวศที่คนต้องพึ่งพา”

เพราะถ้าพระเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงสร้างน้ำ
พระราชินีก็ทรงสร้างป่า

ทั้งประเทศเงียบลง เหมือนหัวใจไทยทั้งชาติรอฟังข่าวเดียวกัน
แม้จะจำต้องงดพระราชกรณียกิจ
แต่พระเกียรติยศกลับยิ่งชัดขึ้นไปอีก
คนไทยทั้งประเทศพร้อมใจกันเรียกพระองค์ว่า
“แม่ของแผ่นดิน”
และ 12 สิงหาคมของทุกปี
ไม่ใช่แค่ “วันแม่แห่งชาติ” ตามปฏิทิน

แต่ในอีกมุมหนึ่ง นี่คือการเริ่มบทบาทใหม่ของพระองค์
ในฐานะ “สมเด็จพระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง”
ผู้เป็นร่มโพธิ์ให้รัชกาลต่อมา
และยังคงเป็นความรักของคนไทยรุ่นแล้วรุ่นเล่า

พ.ศ. 2562 เป็นต้นมา –
พระองค์ได้รับการเฉลิมพระนามาภิไธยอย่างเป็นทางการ

สำหรับคนไทยรุ่นผม
สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ฯ ไม่ได้ทรงเป็นเพียง “ราชินีในหนังสือเรียน”

แต่ทรงเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้เราลงมือจริง
ปลูกป่า ไม่ใช่แค่พูดว่ารักป่า

อนุรักษ์วัฒนธรรม ไม่ใช่เพราะโรแมนติก แต่เพราะมันเลี้ยงปากท้องคน
ช่วยเพื่อนมนุษย์ ไม่ถามก่อนว่าเขามาจากไหน
และซื่อสัตย์ต่อผืนดินที่เรายืนอยู่

พระองค์ทรงสอนชาติไทยทั้งชาติด้วยพระชนมชีพของพระองค์เองว่า
“ความจงรักภักดีที่แท้จริง ไม่ได้อยู่แค่ในคำพูด
แต่อยู่ในการดูแลชีวิตของกันและกัน”

ด้วยหัวใจของพสกนิกรคนหนึ่ง

ดังที่สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ เคยแสดงความดีใจ ต่อข้าราชการและชุมชน ที่ตั้งใจดูแลอนุรักษ์ป่าไม้ไว้ว่า
“ข้าพเจ้าดีใจ ที่ท่านเข้าใจความสำคัญของป่าไม้ เรามีป่า เพราะเราต้องมีน้ำ มีน้ำใช้ น้ำรับประทาน เมื่อวันนี้ท่านแสดงความเข้าใจว่าป่าไม้นี้สมควรช่วยกันรักษา ข้าพเจ้าก็ปลื้มใจ และขออวยพรให้ท่านทั้งหลาย ประสบความสุข ความเจริญรุ่งเรือง สุขทั้งกาย สุขทั้งใจ สวัสดี”

1932–1949 (Birth to Age 17)
The birth of “the Heart of the Land” 🌸

1932 – Her Majesty Queen Sirikit was born on 12 August 1932.
Her given name, “Sirikit,” carries the meaning of honor and auspicious grace to the House of Kitiyakara.
From the very beginning, her life was a gift to the nation.

Her childhood was not a tale of effortless luxury in a palace.
It was a childhood shaped by movement — between homes, between countries, through times of political change.

During World War II, she grew up under the sound of air-raid sirens.
She went to school. She studied music. She practiced discipline.
She learned endurance.
And most importantly — she learned compassion. 💞

This was the beginning of her inner beauty:
Kindness. Discipline. Strength.
Three qualities that would later become a source of strength for millions of Thais.

1946–1949 – Following her father, a diplomat, abroad allowed her to see the world.
She deepened her mastery of languages, music, and international culture.
And during those years, she came to be close to King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

What began then was not only affection between two young people —
it was the quiet beginning of a partnership that would change a nation. 🇹🇭

19 July 1949 – The engagement.
This was more than a private ceremony.
It was the day Thailand received its future Queen —
a Queen who would not stand only beside the throne,
but beside the people, beside the forest, beside the soil of this country. 🌱

1950–1959 (Age 18–27)
From “Bride of the King” to “Protector of the People” 🤍

1950 – On 28 April 1950, Her Majesty and His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej were married.
In May of the same year came the Coronation of King Rama IX.
And from that moment forward, the world witnessed the beginning of a sacred partnership:
“Two sovereign hearts, one duty to the nation.”

From that moment, Her Majesty was no longer only “the beautiful Queen.”
She became:
— the courage and comfort of the King,
— and the hope of the Thai people. 💙

1951–1957 – The royal children were born.
To the nation, they were not only heirs to the throne.
They were blessings we all felt we shared.
The royal family did not feel distant.
Thailand felt, for the first time, like a single household. 🕊

1956 – A turning point in history.
When His Majesty King Rama IX temporarily entered the monkhood —
Her Majesty Queen Sirikit was appointed as the Regent of Thailand.

This was not just a constitutional role.
It was a declaration of trust.
It told an entire nation:
“If, for now, I am in the temple,
She — the Queen — is the protector of our people.” 🇹🇭

From then on, she was formally titled
Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, Queen Consort and Regent.
A Queen not just of ceremony —

Late 1950s – Her Majesty began to represent Thailand on the world stage.

In the early 1960s – Her Majesty accompanied His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej across the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific.

The whole world saw a Queen in Thai silk —
elegant, gentle, steady.
And for the first time, the world began to truly see Thai silk
not as fabric,
but as identity.

This was Thailand’s soft power…
before the world even had the word “soft power.” 🇹🇭✨

Late 1960s – early 1970s
These journeys abroad were not just diplomacy.
They were study visits.

Her Majesty observed how other nations developed,
then carried those lessons back to Thailand and asked:
“How can we lift the quality of life of our people…
without destroying who we are?” 💙

1968–1975 – A turning point for Thailand.
Her Majesty traveled deep into the country —
mountain villages, border communities, remote forests.

She did not learn about poverty from a report.
She saw it, face-to-face.

And she refused to accept the old idea that
“the poor must stay poor because they were born poor.” ❌

Instead, she planted a radical idea for that time:
Teach skills.
Create livelihoods.
Restore dignity.

This vision gave birth to the promotion of local crafts:
silk weaving, basketry, pottery, woodwork.
What used to be “village women’s handicraft”
was transformed into “the cultural treasures of Thailand.” 🌺

This became the foundation of what we now know as the SUPPORT Foundation —
the Royal Initiative to preserve Thai craft and train artisans across the country.

1976 – The SUPPORT Foundation (the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques) was formally established under Her Majesty’s patronage.

This was not “just a craft project.”
It was a bridge — from the margins of society to dignity.

Because in Her Majesty’s eyes,
“Every Thai deserves the chance to stand on their own feet.
Not to be pitied —
but to be given opportunity.” 🤍

Around the same era, conflict along Thailand’s eastern border created a refugee crisis.
Thousands fled war and crossed into Thai territory with nothing.

Her Majesty never asked first, “Are they Thai?”
She asked first, “Are they safe? Do they have medicine? Do they have food?” 🫶

And in that moment, Thailand was not only great in territory.
Thailand became great in heart.

In the years that followed, Her Majesty was recognized globally —
for humanitarian leadership,
for elevating the role of women,
and for preserving and reviving Thailand’s traditional arts and cultural identity.

1992 – The 60th Birthday Celebrations (Five Cycles) 🌸
The entire nation rose to honor Her Majesty.
New schools were established in her honor, botanical gardens and public parks were created to promote environmental learning, and national efforts were launched to protect forests and watersheds.

This was a clear message:
Her Majesty did not only care for “the people.”
She cared for the entire living system that people depend on —
water, forests, land, culture. 🌳💧

If the King brought water,
the Queen restored the forest.
Together, they sheltered the land of Thailand. 🤍

2007–2010 – Her Majesty championed the revival of classical Thai performance traditions — including the Royal Khon masked dance drama — bringing them back to life for a new generation.

This was not nostalgia.
This was national memory, protected.
This was cultural soul, extended forward.

In recognition of decades of environmental stewardship, biodiversity protection, and cultural preservation, Her Majesty became known throughout the nation as
“Mother of the Thai Forests,”
“Mother of Biodiversity,”
and “Mother of Thai Silk.” 🌿🦋

Because under her protection, the forest was not just trees.
It was future.
Culture was not just heritage.
It was livelihood.

2012–2025 (Age 80–93)
The Mother of the Nation, forever in our hearts 🤍💙

2012 – When Her Majesty’s health changed,
the entire country went quiet —
as if we all held the same breath, the same prayer.

Even as she gradually stepped back from public duties,
the love and reverence for her only grew stronger.

To the Thai people,
she was not only “Her Majesty the Queen.”
She became “Mae Khong Chart” —
the Mother of the Nation. 👩‍🍼🇹🇭

From then on, 12 August — her birthday —
was not just Mother’s Day on the calendar.
It became a day of gratitude.
A day to say:
“Thank you, Mother, for giving so many of us a new life.” 💙

2016 – The passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX)
marked the close of more than 60 years of shared devotion to the Thai people —
a love story of service as much as of the heart.

But for Her Majesty, it was also the beginning of a new role:
The Queen Mother.
The steady, loving presence for the new reign.
A living bridge between generations of Thais. 🌅

2019 onward – Her Majesty was formally honored with the full title:
“Her Majesty Queen Sirikit
The Queen Mother of Thailand.”

It is a title that binds past, present, and future.
It tells every Thai child:
This is where you come from.
This is who protects you. 💙

2025 – When the entire land of Thailand wept together…
we knew we had not lost only a Queen Mother.
We had lost “Mae” — our Mother.

The Mother who taught us to love our forests.
To be proud of Thai silk and Thai wisdom.
To honor honest work.
To believe that ordinary people deserve dignity. 🌿

To my generation,
Her Majesty Queen Sirikit is not just a figure in the textbook.
She is the reason we act.

We plant forests — not just say we “love nature.”
We preserve culture — not just for romance, but because it feeds families.
We help other human beings — without first asking “Where are you from?”
And we remain loyal to the land beneath our feet. 🌏

Her Majesty taught an entire nation, through her own life, that:
“True loyalty is not only spoken.
True loyalty is taking care of one another.”

“I am glad that you understand the importance of our forests.
We have forests because we must have water —
water to use, water to drink.
Today, when you show your understanding that the forests must be protected,

I am filled with pride.
And I offer you my blessing:
May you all have happiness, prosperity, and well-being —
in body and in spirit.”

With reverence, we humbly bid farewell to Her Majesty,
and offer our prayers for her peaceful ascent.
